We are working with an Independently owned, Restaurant close to York to find a strong Sous Chef. This is a newly opened business which has taken the area by storm with it's innovative menu and varied offering.

This is a food led, destination spot. Somewhere people will travel for an occasion, a place for folk to meet for Cocktails, for business lunches and Professionals to host seminars etc.

The property can cater up to 130 covers, and can be very busy so will suit a Sous Chef happy to work at pace whilst maintaining finesse.

There is a great opportunity for a you as Sous Chef , to have autonomy and work closely with their Head Chef to take the place to new levels.

Concept is Modern British, all fresh produce. From light breakfasts/brunches to A La Carte. Your creativity will be welcomed as will be your passion for great food

You will enjoy a brand new kitchen with a decent budget for equipment and an open invitation of input from the owners.

As an experienced and proven Sous Chef, in the absence of the Head Chef you will be responsible for the full Kitchen Operation from Recruiting Chefs, to HACCAP, Hygiene, Ordering, Staff Development, Rota's, Supply etc - it is desirable you have experience in these areas although not essential to have all.

Assisting in the smooth running of service, you will be confident in your ability to help lead the brigade and be a great senior support.

You will be of calm demeanour and have an ability to lead a team through example and experience.

Salary for Sous Chef up to £28,000 basic plus tips

Hours - Full time and permanent. 55-60 per week. 5 days over 7.
