Senior Sous Chef
We are working with a highly acclaimed business close to Ripon to recruit for Senior Sous Chef for their brigade of 12.
This is an award winning Restaurant with Rooms. Fine dining, modern British Menu. Focused on celebrating local and seasonal produce. Everything here is made on site - from Chocolates to Pastries, Sauces, breads and Ice creams.
Although this is a fine dining Restaurant, the covers are relatively high, (average 1000 to 1500 per week) so would suit a Sous Chef who likes to be kept busy and enjoys the buzz of working with a busy brigade.
Staff retention has always been brilliant here with Chefs staying at least 5 years - there are 13 Chefs and 4+ of them have been there 7 years upward. Says heaps about the conditions and the owners.
The working environment is great too, large kitchen, well equipped with owners who choose to replace equipment as opposed to repair. Constantly updating and improving things for the property.
You will be an experienced and confident Sous Chef, with some background in Fine Dining mixed with higher volumes. You will have experience at Sous level, standing in for HC, assisting with running the kitchen, ordering, menu creation, HACCP, staff management etc.
It's split shifts with last order in at 9pm. 5 days across 7 and paid overtime.
Salary up to £30,000 basic plus a guaranteed minimum of £3k tips.
Live in available at £53 per week, walking distance from the property.
