Job Description

We are working with an industry leading Accountancy Firm in York to find them a confident, experienced Payroll Executive.

As a Payroll Executive you will be working with a number of clients answering Payroll queries, supporting their business with day to day issues.

You will be working with a team of 8 Payroll Executives and supported by your Payroll Manager. With as many as 80 of your own clients, attention to detail and an ability to self manage is key. Payroll can be weekly, monthly quarterly or annual. An ability to adapt and prioritise is essential as the ability to communicate effectively. This is a varied role, where no two days are likely to be the same.

You will set up PAYE Schemes, payroll journals, calculate SAYE and GAYE pension contributions, as well as supporting clients with process understanding.

You will be working in a progressive and commercial environment with like minded people who share a real passion for the industry.

You will be preparing statutory accounts, analysing client records and documenting findings to be passed on to the Audit Senior, corporate Tax computations including ixbrl tagging submissions. You will assist an array of clients and manage tasks in support of a number of Managers. The role will see you visit clients also with colleagues. It is desirable that you drive and have your own transport for this reason.

Support of further training and development is encouraged and promoted. The business offer financial support with this alongside study leave. Ideally you will be AAT3 and pushing for more.

Salary is dependent on experience up to £17,700 basic.

You will be using Fresh local products to reflect on current surroundings. The Kitchen is well equipped and a good size for an Old Coach House. This is a busy Inn so experience in high volumes is needed.

This is a business which truly values it's staff and appreciates that they are the key to success. Recently trialing the 4 on 3 off shift, illustrates that staff happiness comes as a high priority to them.

98% of the food is made onsite from fresh local produce. The kitchen is well equipped and a nice size. Well staffed too with 7 in the current brigade.

Staff retention here is some of the lowest I have encountered within hospitality. Here, the kitchen team have been with them from 4 years to 6 years. A testament to their belief in their people.

Straight shifts. Salary up to £21k depending on experience. You will need transport due to location.
